AIC: Bexley parish has a number of voluntary groups, one of which is a
local branch of AIC (International Association of Charities), a
network of people aiming to make a christian response to situations of
poverty and suffering according to need and their own availability,
skills and experience. Originally founded by Saint Vincent de Paul to
care for the destitute poor of seventeenth century France, the
association now has 250,000 members in five continents. Most volunteers
work on local empowerment projects or in Justice work. As an
international NGO, the organisation also has representation at the
U.N., E.U, the Vatican and other bodies.
In the U.K.it is a founding member of the Vincentian Millenium Partnership.

In the Bexley parish there are 12 members - some involved in parish
and community development work in the area, most in integration work
with homeless people in London (´Saturday Friends´), some in Justice
work. A few use their skills within the international association. All
are involved in the support of a developing association in Ghana.
